Arc Community
we understand that parents want their kids to grow to be independent; capable of making positive choices that enable them to maximize their strengths, overcome their weaknesses and reach their fullest potential.

Perhaps the hope for their happiness and success is at its strongest as kids reach the formative teen years. This is a pivotal time in their lives because these experiences and influences build the bridge from the children they once were to the adults they will become.

Arc provides our students with the tools they need to build a strong foundation for this transition. We do this by creating an environment that promotes self-discovery as well as social, emotional and intellectual growth. We have been running programs trips for teens for over 30 years, and over this time our programs have received numerous letters from our students and their parents that describe the impact that the trips have had on them. Their words say more than we ever could about our programs.

The experience gave Zane a new perspective in his life. Although he is well-traveled, this adventure that developed his inner strength has brought such clarity to him. Zane was keenly interested in marine life and biology in middle school. He had lost that passion. This summer’s experience has revived his passion in marine life and the environment. The program offers meaningful leadership development through giving. Thank you for such a wonderful, and life enhancing experience.

Many, many thanks for all your planning and hard work to make the three weeks so wonderful and incredibly exciting. We can only speak for Jamie, but it does sound like he was not the only one who had such a meaningful and fun experience with you. He reports that the group was fabulous, both the leaders and the teenagers. We thank you all for a very worthwhile experience.

I have no doubt this will be a turning point in Shannon’s life. As he said “Mom, I saw more poverty there in 10 minutes than I could have imagined existed in the world.” Everyone in the group is determined to try to raise money for the foundation through which they worked. He had fun with wonderful people and feels like he did good things for very needy people. What a successful trip. I, as a parent, was extraordinarily impressed with your efforts put into planning the trip. The emails I received made it clear that the trip was both well organized and well thoughf out. I know someone made certain to balance work and fun so that students didn’t become overwhelmed.

I was delighted with the program, which combined community service with appropriate doses of tourism, adventure and group dynamics. My daughter came back with enthusiasm and passion. So many thanks for making this such a special summer!
