Today we changed our course, instead of heading towards Corsica we swung Argo's bow towards Elba once again as an approaching low pressure pattern was heading towards Cape Corsica. Upon arrival at Elba we cleaned the ship and proceeded to spend the day learning different marine skills. The shipmates spent time with staff learning knots and the proper use of winches among other things. After dinner we finished the day with a lifeworks forum. |

After sitting in Elba last night, we woke up this morning and began to sail for Monaco. All three watch teams; Alpha, Beta and Delta, helped raise the anchor and sails. Once we were out of the harbor Delta team took over for the first 3 hour watch shift. Throughout the day each watch team took turns on 3 hours on and 6 hours off and this will continue throughout the night until we reach Monaco. Right as we began our sail we figured that it would take just under 30 hours to reach Monaco, and we are now coming up to our 9th hour. Because there is still a bit of a swell and wind we have been cruising at about 8 knots and if that speed is kept up we will hopefully arrive in Monaco in a little over 10 more hours. It was another great day, and everyone was all smiles with jumping with the waves at the bow. |

Today we arrived in Monte Carlo after a 24 hour sail. Although we made very good time, everyone was anxious to get some shore leave. Monaco is ridiculous. While eating at pizzerias we saw at least 20 Ferraris pass by. Everyone explored everything the town had to offer. We all visited the royal palace, the beautiful beaches, cruised around the Monte Carlo casino and 3 of the girls even sat next to Owen Wilson in a Caf. Tonight there is an international fireworks competition. Germany is up at 10pm so we are looking forward to that. We are finally going to celebrate the 4th of July in style. |

This morning we got up to go to the Oceanography Museum in Monaco. I think the most difficult thing to do on this boat is to get everyone out of bed. But it was well worth it to see the aquarium with the wildest fish I have ever seen. Leaving Monaco we put up all of the sails including the flying jib for the first time and had a really nice day sailing. We took turns going out on the dinghy to take photos of Argo sailing as a good finale for our trip. We anchored in Beaulieu Sur Mer for the penultimate evening where we have just had our closing program. |

Today the crew commenced "Argo appreciation day", which involves the full top to bottom, inside and out cleaning of our gorgeous vessel, which we have lived aboard for the last three weeks. Thus far the cleaning has gone relatively well, with the hope of shoretime in the beautiful ville franche and love of our boat arriving driving us on. In the same token all are beginning to realize our amazing journey is coming to an end, and soon we will all have to part ways. Until then Argo is being appreciated and we are enjoying our last precious moments of time together aboard with take-away pizzas and stories we will carry with us forever. |
