Today all the shipmates woke up to the power of 8ft swells. Although we lost several due to sea-sickness some found the rocking of the boat to be a blast. We finally found a port to pull into and had a walk around the town to ease our stomachs. Once everyone was back on board we had our daily squeeze and dinner. Hopefully tomorrow we will be back on course for Elba so we can enjoy the beaches. |

We arrived at Elba around 7am and slowly got everyone to start cleaning the boat and flaking the sails. The weather changed from windy and cold to sunny and warm. After a nice lunch we went to shore to see the place where Napoleon was first exiled. After everyone returned we took showers in the sea. After dinner we had a great IYT sailing class before going to bed. |

The day started at 0630. We woke up and motored from Porto Ferraio to Porto Azzuro and ate pancakes while underway. After dropping anchor some shipmates went to shore and a few stayed onboard the ship for lunch. Others had lunch in town. We walked around the town for a few hours and then we returned to the ship at around 4 o'clock. After taking showers we made the boat ready to sail and left for Rome. |

Activities: |
After a long night of windless sailing, the winds picked up and we cruised into the port of Civitavecchia at an astonishing 7 knots. After docking and redocking, we enjoyed the biggest and best lunch ever aboard Argo - grilled cheese, Pringles, and a huge watermelon. We finally finished our IYT modules and began reviewing for our upcoming test. After Argo had a nice scrub down, we left for another gelato-filled shore leave. Now we have all enjoyed our fresh water rinses and delicious dinner topped off with chocolate cake. The sun slowly sets as we await our second Lifeworks forum. |

We woke up early to catch a 6:50 train to Rome. Once there we all visited the Colliseum, the Senate, and the Piazza Navona. We split off into groups and scoured the city for fun. A few stopped by the Vatican wile others shopped and ate. A few groups also went to see the Pantheon. Everyone returned to the train station on time for the 9:05 train back. As soon as we came aboard most shipmates went straight to their cabins and hit the sheets. The day was a huge success. Everyone had an excellent time in Rome! |

Once upon a Tuesday, we got to wake up an hour later at 8:30 to amazing French toast. After we cleaned everything up nicely, we then went to town. Oh, I forgot to say that the boy's port 6 and girls fo'c'astle had to stay an hour longer to study IYT because they left their cabin lights on. After a great day in town we came back and left the Civitavecchia upon Simon's arrival. Today was really sunny with some clouds. I think the best thing that happened today was putting the sails up and turning the engine off. P.S. We brought an old boarding ladder up when we were raising one of the anchors. |
